Supporting the Meningitis Trust

In December 2008, our 20 month old grandson, Harry, was swiftly taken away from us by the devastating disease, meningitis.  He had been ill for just a few hours with what appeared to be just a simple cold.

It was later found to be meningitis.

As a family we got to hear and learn more of the Meningitis Trust, an organisation set up to help families in the same situation as we found ourselves and also to assist on promoting the work being done into research of the disease.

Since then we have actively raised money through a number of different events and I intend to use this page to show details of events we are planning and the outcome of those events.

Saturday 30th January 2010 .......

saw a fund raising event  at Blotts Country Club, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, when the owner of the club, George Blott, along with his family and staff, readily agreed to assist us raising money.

We were entertained by the New Platters singing some of the old favourite songs, fed with a 3 course meal and entertained until the early hours by the resident DJ.

As a result of a raffle and generous donations a total of £1700 was raised, all of which will be given to the Trust.
